Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development in the Ingram Center for Student-Athlete Success, while complying with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations, this position will provide administrative support for programs and student-athlete services including but not limited to career and personal development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized professional development assistance to Vanderbilt student-athletes including critiquing resumes, conducting mock interviews, developing networking strategies, assessing career goals, and guiding student-athletes on short and long-term career strategy action plan development.
- Responsible for employer relations for internships, job placements, and engagement opportunities.
- Direct, plan, and implement student-athlete specific career programming.
- Responsible for ideation, implementation, and execution of all career development programs for student-athletes of all classes.
- Responsible for planning and execution of summer internship fair.
- Works closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development to continually revamp the four-year student-athlete curriculum as needed.
- Oversee planning of industry-specific programming, including on-site career tours.
- Oversee the implementation and growth of the mentor program, serving as the liaison between the Athletics department, mentors, and mentees.
- Collaborate with the Black and Gold Club for alumni interactions and engagement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is necessary.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
Prior experience in collegiate athletics at the Division I institutional and/or conference level is necessary.
