The University of Colorado Boulder and our Athletic's Advancement team encourages applications for a Director of Development! We're looking for an experienced development professional with substantial fundraising experience. This position will primarily focus on development of relationships with CU alumni and other donors, specifically targeting gifts greater than $50K, throughout Colorado and within a specific defined geographical region in the PAC 12 footprint. Responsible for larger, more complex gift prospects by identifying, cultivating, sustaining and increasing donor relationships. This position will plan, implement and coordinate fundraising activities for designated programs, as well as plan and carry out the institution's program of soliciting major gifts.
What You Will Need:
Prior fundraising, public relations, marketing, or sales experience.
Ability to cultivate and solicit donations from individuals at leadership gift level.
Communicate verbally and in writing, and develops and maintains interpersonal relationships.
Analyze information/situations and works proactively to solve problems.
Handle sensitive information discretely and maintains confidentiality.
Organize and run multiple projects/tasks simultaneously; must have ability to work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to changing priorities.
Knowledge of current issues facing public universities and interests of assigned school, students, faculty, and alumni.
Personal computer proficiency required, especially as related Microsoft Office Products; MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; donor tracking software, Paciolan/Spectra ticketing and donor development software; Digital literacy may be subject to testing/verification.
Expert knowledge of fundraising techniques.
Proven ability to recruit and run activities of volunteer staff.
What We Would Like You To Have:
Previous experience working in an intercollegiate athletics department.
Graduate work in related field.
