Director of Football Sport Science & Performance Innovation

The Director of Football Sport Science and Performance Innovation will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of high quality data related to the health and performance of the BYU football team. The Director assists the Director of Football Athletic Performance with managing and carrying out the vision and action plans of the interdisciplinary football health and performance team.

What You’d Be Responsible For:

• Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of high-quality data to drive athletic health and performance decision-making.
• Assist each performance discipline (athletic training, physical therapy, strength & conditioning, nutrition, etc.) with choosing, organizing, and integrating data collection for team use.
• Oversee the development and management of a sport science lab.
• Oversee employees, students, and interns working within the sport science department.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of the IPT in the absence of the Director of Athletic Performance.
• Influence the vision and decision-making of the IPT based upon previous experience, research evidence, and collection and use of high quality sport science data.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in a sports-related healthcare discipline (DPT, DC, ATC) with experience in collegiate or professional athletic rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
• A doctoral degree in a sports-related healthcare discipline (DPT, DC, ATC) with extensive work experience in elite-level collegiate or professional athletic rehabilitation and performance enhancement (Preferred).
• Must have required degree by start date.
