Description
The University of Missouri Athletics Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Olympic Sports Medicine to oversee the comprehensive healthcare services for our student-athletes participating in various Olympic sports programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sports medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sports medicine policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with NCAA regulations and best practices.
- Provide direct medical care to student-athletes, including injury evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Supervise and collaborate with athletic trainers, team physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for athletes.
- Oversee the administration of pre-participation physical exams, medical screenings, and injury prevention programs.
- Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and university guidelines.
- Coordinate medical coverage for practices, competitions, and travel events for assigned sports teams.
- Educate coaches, athletes, and staff members on sports injury prevention strategies, proper nutrition, hydration, and health maintenance.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
- Prior experience leading a NCAA Division I Sports Medicine Program (Preferred).
