Director of Rehab – Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist-DOR is responsible for the leadership, management, day to day operations and overall success of rehab services for the facility. This position will direct all three disciplines, to ensure that the highest quality rehab services are provided and in accordance with all laws, regulations, and company standards. This DOR will also be a treating therapist.

Responsibilities:

• With clinician input, assigns patient caseload and other responsibilities to staff.
• Supervises rehab staff and ensures effective rehab staff orientation, training and ongoing competency.
• Coordinates rehab admissions and distribution of caseload including productivity management.
• Ensures rehab department is providing skilled, clinically appropriate and evidence-based care.
• Develop quality standards for program outcomes, performance improvement, customer satisfaction data, documentation, educational needs, and clinical standards.
• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in our residents.
• Assists in the case management/tracking of Medicare A rehab cases under the PDPM system.

Requirements:

• Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Strong knowledge of early intervention practices and building caseloads.
• Experience working in long term care.
• Knowledge of the Medicare PDPM System preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on improving quality of life.
