Description
Reporting to the Dean of Student Affairs, this position is responsible for supervising all staff, facilities and finances related to student development, student government, student organizations and leadership, student programming, student center, college athletics and related wellness programming. The Director serves as the NCTC Athletic Director. The Director of Student Life and Athletics is a Joint Campus position.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- Effective human relations/communications skills: written, verbal and listening.
- Sound conflict resolution techniques.
- Understanding, sensitivity and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and a belief in the ability of every person to be a successful learner.
- Experience with budget development and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in administration and/or supervision appropriate to the assignment.
- Experience with schedule-management.
- Experience with budget management.
- Experience working for a higher education institution.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Initiative to make decisions independently regarding workload, problems, or situations..
