Description
HCA is seeking a passionate and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to lead students in developing lifelong fitness habits, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The PE Teacher will create engaging lessons that promote physical activity, skill development, and overall wellness while integrating biblical principles into instruction. The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian who models Christ-like character and encourages students to honor God through their physical abilities and discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with the school's mission and values.
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate physical activities, games, and exercises.
- Teach students fundamental movement skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.
- Integrate biblical principles into lessons, encouraging students to glorify God through physical activity.
- Ensure a safe and structured environment for all students during PE classes.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
- Promote a positive and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels.
- Establish and reinforce expectations for behavior, respect, and sportsmanship in physical activities.
- Instruct students on health, wellness, and the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle.
- Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate students with different abilities and needs.
Qualifications:
- A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with and ability to uphold HCA’s Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- ACSI certification or ability to obtain.
- Experience in physical education instruction, preferably in a Christian school setting.
- Knowledge of child development, physical fitness, and effective teaching strategies.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for students of all abilities.
