Description
Instructs students at the elementary levels in activities designed to promote social, emotional, and intellectual growth in subject matters and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
- Teaches District approved curriculum daily.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction. Adapts the curriculum to provide differentiation to individual students and small groups.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and meets the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of students.
- Translates lesson plans into developmentally-appropriate learning experiences daily.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited four-year college.
- A valid teaching license with a K-6 Teacher Elementary Classroom or content specific endorsement(s) (e.g., K-8 Art, K-8 Music, K-8 Physical Education) through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
- Bachelor’s degree in job-related area.
