Description
Required Qualifications:
- Holds an K-8 Physical Education (#146) endorsement from the BOEE, or be eligible to obtain.
- Possess effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a general understanding of the learning process and specific knowledge of the unique physical, social, emotional, linguistic, and academic development of primary students and other elementary school learners.
- Demonstrates extensive content knowledge in areas of Physical Education for young learners (i.e., teaching motor skills and movement patterns; concepts, principles, strategies and tactics relating to movement and performance; physical fitness and nutrition; healthy decision making and responsible personal behavior; and the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction, to elementary aged students).
- Demonstrated effectiveness in establishing and sustaining classroom environments that promote learning (i.e. effective classroom management).
- Demonstrated effectiveness in the design and implementation of lessons, differentiation of instruction, and assessment of student learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful experience serving in an elementary Physical Education setting.
- Successful experience serving English Language Learners (ELLs).
- Successful experience implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS).
- Successful experience working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Successful experience integrating technology in the classroom.
