Girls Lacrosse Coach

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Represent Sidwell Friends School and the Lacrosse Program professionally in all aspects, including during training and competition. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Travel/drive the minibus with the team and assist with oversight and instruction of student athletes at practices and games throughout the spring.
• Promote and create a positive team culture, develop fundamentals and skills of the game, organize and enthusiastically run practices, and implement effective game strategies.
• Abide by Sidwell Friends School (SFS), and District of Columbia State Athletic Association rules (DCSAA) and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and experience with girls lacrosse at the youth and high school levels, including, rules, best coaching practices, and game management.
• Willingness to work with student-athletes at all stages of development.
• Availability to coach team practices and games between 4-7pm on Monday - Friday (JV) and/or between 1:30-4pm on Monday - Thursday (MS). One candidate can be contracted for both the Assistant Middle School Coach and the JV Head Coach.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, other coaches, parents, and students.
• As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will complete and clear a background and fingerprint screening before the first day of work. Upon hire, they will obtain CPR Certification, First Aid training, Bus training, and other requirements immediately, upon hire.
