Description
Under the direction of the director of athletics, the coach oversees the skill development, planning and scheduling of the team throughout the season. Candidates must commit to proper sportsmanship and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans and other coaches. Candidates should have knowledge and experience of the sport and understand how to teach, mentor and motivate student-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching/playing experience;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members;
- Ability to foster a positive team spirit as well as individual skill improvement;
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekends;
- First Aid and CPR training - or willing to be trained;
- A love for working with young people and a commitment to an inclusive community.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage in activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to [e.g., 20 pounds] occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, such as bending, kneeling, or crouching, as needed during duties.
- Ability to use hands and arms to handle, reach, or manipulate objects, materials, or equipment related to the role.
- Clear speech and hearing to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff.
- Visual acuity to read and interpret educational or health-related materials, as well as observe student activities.
- Ability to move quickly and respond to potential emergencies in a school environment.
