Description
The Girls Lacrosse Camp Director leads and actively engages in a safe, organized, meaningful, enriching, and fun lacrosse program for groups of campers primarily ages 6-13. The program should focus on skills for lacrosse, athletics and for life, such as teamwork, healthy competition, being active and healthy, and having fun.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate, plan, and lead age appropriate, safe, and enriching activities in the sport.
- Follow and uphold all policies and philosophies of Fessenden Summer Camps.
- Follow and uphold all state and local health and safety regulations and guidelines and those set by the Camp.
- Teach staff their responsibilities in your activity area during staff training and throughout the season.
- Teach and guide campers, CITs, and coworkers in participating successfully and appropriately in all aspects of the sport and related activities, including proper and safe use of equipment.
- Conduct initial, in-season, and end-of-season inventories, assuring appropriate supplies for activity and storage of the supplies.
- Conduct and ensure regular cleaning and checks of spaces and equipment are being performed by group staff according to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Training/certification and/or experience in the sport.
- Demonstrated experience playing and coaching the sport and/or working with and leading children preferably in the sport.
- Desire and ability to supervise, lead, and positively manage campers and work with other staff in a cooperative, team-oriented camp atmosphere.
- Knowledge and skills in the sport and the ability to teach these skills to campers and staff.
