Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain high standards for athletes’ performance and conduct.
Model standards of conduct in own behavior.
Dress appropriately at practices and games.
Knowledge of sport.
Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques.
Seek opportunities to learn and employ new techniques and ideas.
Teach skills that are appropriate and safe for the individual athlete.
Supervise athletes at all times.
Maintain, inventory, properly store and care for equipment.
Check equipment and facilities for safety.
Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled events or practices as necessary.
While performing the essential duties of the position, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee will frequently use demonstration techniques while coaching that require physical activity, such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, swinging an implement, and general body movement. The employee will need to carry items that may be heavy (in excess of 20 pounds). The employee will occasionally need to sit for long periods of time, and frequently travel by bus. The position may require the employee to work extended hours to meet the demands of the position.
