Description
The Head Gymnastics Coach will help in supervising and instructing the high school gymnastics team of assignment, which is important to the student-athletes’ success in reaching their full potential in the classroom and on the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee training of gymnasts in conjunction with the other coaches.
- Develop training plans for gymnasts in conjunction with the other coaches.
- overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games.
- Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
- Attend and coach at all practices.
- Attend and coach at all meets.
- Assist other coaches in monitoring team members’ practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance and grades
- enforcing team policies.
- Responsible for providing kids feedback about their performance related to their disposition, behavior and team skills.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an approved coach’s education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching if no teaching license.
- Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive development and motivation of student-athletes.
- Strong gymnastics background with competitive experience at the High School Level.
- Knowledge of gymnastics skills, development, and spotting techniques.
- Organizational skills relating to gymnastics.
- Skill in planning progressive conditioning and developmental gymnastics program.
- Ability to initiate and maintain communication with parents.
