Head Baseball Coach

Richard Bland will be entering its third season of having a baseball program. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all phases of the baseball program in accordance with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and philosophies. Primary duties include recruiting a roster of 40 athletes, competing on the regional and national level, retention of student athletes, and assisting with the education and development of the student athlete.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions; responsible for meeting the college-identified annual recruiting goal for the program.
• Develop strategies to motivate individual and team athletic performance along with appropriate personal and social conduct both on-campus and off-campus.
• Plan and execute practices and game preparation and coach in-game.
• Provide management and direction to assistant coaching staff and training personnel.
• Participate in the development and management of the team budget.
• Coordinate team travel and required documentation; follow College policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in campus programs and manage the development and coordination of community service projects for team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of coaching experience (High School, Travel, or College) or playing experience as a collegiate athlete.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff and students.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Enthusiastic commitment to the Richard Bland College mission, vision and the goals of the RBC strategic plan.
