Description
The Head Baseball Coach at Concord University is responsible for oversight of all phases of the Division II Baseball program in compliance with all NCAA, MEC Conference and institutional rules and regulations. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching and student-athlete skill development, recruiting, budgeting, team travel, and providing a positive collegiate experience for student-athletes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively coach a competitive baseball program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all NCAA conference, MEC, and institutional rules and regulations.
- Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the men’s athletic program, and effectively promoting Concord University academic and athletic programs to potential students.
- Develop a sports program that challenges student-athletes to succeed individually and as a team within the structure of the Department of Athletics.
- Ensure that players associated with the baseball program are eligible under NCAA and MEC regulations.
- Develop and implement clinic(s), summer camp(s), and effectively monitoring student athlete academic progress; referring or counseling where appropriate, and motivating the athlete;
- Establish and maintain good personal relationships with student athletes, staff, the community and the media.
- Provide student-athletes with appropriate coaching by imparting knowledge of the game and strategies for success.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
- Previous experience coaching on the collegiate level.
- A thorough knowledge of applicable NCAA rules and regulations is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching Baseball is required.
