Head Basketball Coach – High School

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for the high school boys’ team.
• Plan and lead structured practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy.
• Provide individualized coaching and constructive feedback to help players refine their technique and understanding of the game.
• Foster a positive and disciplined team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices, games, and team activities.
• Oversee game-day preparation, including scouting opponents, developing game plans, and making in-game adjustments.
• Coordinate with assistant coaches and support staff to maximize team success.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or higher level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
• Ability to mentor student-athletes and model Christian character consistent with Heritage Christian Academy’s mission and values.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the school’s athletic program.
