Description
Minot State University, an NCAA Division II institution and proud member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), is seeking applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of all facets of the men’s basketball program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including team strategy, coaching, recruitment, scheduling, and budget oversight.
- Foster a competitive and positive program culture that supports the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Coordinate with the Assistant AD for Compliance and Student Life to ensure eligibility and adherence to NCAA, NSIC, and institutional regulations.
- Organize and conduct regular team practices, workouts, and skill development sessions.
- Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan to attract and retain quality student-athletes.
- Oversee team travel and logistical planning for games and recruiting.
- Engage in fundraising efforts and organize youth instructional camps to support and promote the basketball program.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications and Media Relations to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of program news, statistics, and promotional materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Collegiate coaching experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and motivational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check required before employment.
