Description
Qualifications:
- Must meet Arkansas licensure requirements.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
- Capable of prolonged standing, walking, sitting, occasional reaching above the head or shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Teachers may be assigned to teach at various locations to meet student needs.
Responsibilities:
- Teach content and appropriate learning activities aligned with the Gentry Public Schools’ curriculum and standards.
- Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives and grade-level expectations.
- Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements as outlined in state law, district regulations, and the School District’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Provide planned learning experiences to engage and motivate students while maximizing instructional time.
- Assess student performance and develop lesson plans, adjusting instruction as necessary to meet individualized and group learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain an atmosphere of respect and rapport, ensuring positive interactions between students and staff.
- Establish and uphold standards of behavior to create a conducive learning environment.
- Evaluate academic and social growth, maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents on student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Collaborate with other staff members to identify student needs and address health, attitude, or learning challenges.
- Create a safe, organized, and high-expectation classroom environment that fosters student engagement.
