Head Boys Cross Country Coach

Position is responsible for coaching cross country participants in grades 7th-12th, assisting with organizing practices, teaching skill development, strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a coach or as a partipicant in the sport.
• Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the school administrations, coaches, parents and students.

Essential Duties:

• Organize and direct practices.
• Communicate with parents and athletes.
• Organize transportation times for away meets.
• Emphasize good sportsmanship and appropriate sports participant behaviors.
• Provide a supportive environment during practices and games.
• Model appropriate behavior toward players, officials and spectators.
• Assist with keeping track of athletic equipment and uniforms issued to your team.
• Assist preparing facilities for all home meets.
• Adhere to the Byron coaches handbook.
• Follow district transportation policies.
