Description
The Head Boys Ice Hockey Coach serves as the head varsity coach and supervises the sub-varsity coaches and teams at Southeastern. The Head Boys Ice Hockey Coach is responsible for building a culture of respect and inclusion for all coaches, players, and their families.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help to develop student-athletes into responsible citizensPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to and communicate district, school and MIAA philosophies and policies as outlined in the district Employee and Student hand books, as well as the MIAA handbook.
- Possess and demonstrate an understanding of the inner workings of the sport that they are coaching.
- Share knowledge of the sport with assistant coaches and team.
- Ensure that assistant coaches are equipped to succeed by supporting them in every possible manner.
- Instill teamwork, respect for others, team spirit and develop a sense of responsibility through athletics.
- Conduct themselves in a highly professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Attend all team related activities such as: practices, games, award ceremonies, professional development, and Athletic Expectations nights.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A working knowledge of the overall operation of an interscholastic athletic program.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to receive your MIAA Coaches Education Certification before or during your first season.
- CPR certification from the American Red Cross or equivalent.
