Description
Wyoming Seminary seeks a Head Varsity Boys Ice Hockey Coach who is responsible for providing leadership and direction to all facets of the ice hockey program in advancing the mission of Wyoming Seminary and the Athletic Department. Sem's hockey program is an associate member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).
Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, administers, and oversees the boys ice hockey program and its 20-35 student-athletes.
- Provides leadership and instruction in the development of student-athletes by counseling team members in academic, citizenship, sportsmanship, and personal matters as needed.
- Works with the Athletic Department on practice, training, and game schedules.
- Communicates with students, parents, opponents, and administration in a timely and effective manner.
- Works with the Admission Office to successfully recruit mission-appropriate applicants to join the school community.
- Oversees the development and progress of each student-athlete.
- Collaborates with the Athletic Department colleagues, Admission Office, Advancement Office, Communications, Upper and School faculty and staff, and the broader school community.
- Sport-specific budget management, planning, and reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated professional competency.
- A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community.
- Preference will be given to applicants who can serve other roles on campus.
