Description
The Head Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes in the sport of Boys Volleyball at all levels of the program (middle and high school). Other duties include developing a regular practice schedule, recruiting lower-level head and assistant coaches as needed, overseeing the 4th-6th Grade CSAL season, and working with the Athletic Department to develop a competitive program. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience as a positive and motivating head coach and must possess excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop student-athletes in the sport of Boys Volleyball using safe and productive drills, skills, strategies, and instruction in the lesson plans.
- Motivate and encourage student-athletes in a positive and appropriate method.
- Provide opportunities to student-athletes in the off-season to train and improve performance.
- Tracks daily attendance and communicates absences to student-athletes and parents.
- Tracks the eligibility of student-athletes according to Mid-Pacific, ILH, and HHSAA guidelines.
- Properly takes care of and stores all equipment on a daily basis, and reports any broken or unsafe equipment to the Athletic Director.
- Helps the Athletic Department with the issuing and returning of uniforms, equipment, etc.
- Monitors academic achievement for athletes to ensure academics are kept in focus.
