Head Boys Wrestling Coach

Position Criteria:

• Certified Coaching Endorsement or Authorization.
• Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed.
• Must exhibit ethical practices, and be a role model to students.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Criteria:

• Formulate objectives for the sport season as it would pertain to player personnel and assistant coaching responsibilities.
• Keep abreast of new ideas and techniques by attending clinics and workshops, reading in the field and encouraging assistant coaches to do the same.
• Be knowledgeable of rules and regulations concerning his/her sport and changes which occur.
• Inventory, selection, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist athletic director with proper registration of all athletes at beginning of the season.
• Collect necessary fees.
• Assist athletic director in compiling eligibility lists and other reports.
• Arrange for systematic issuance of school equipment.
• Make sure all athletes have physicals.
• Assume supervisory control over all phases of teams in the program.
• Organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athlete’s greatest potential.
• Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner.
• See that facility regulations are understood and enforced.
• Conduct oneself and teams in an ethical manner during practice and in contests.
