Head Coach – Baseball

The Head Coach must have a strong passion for the game of baseball and priority of academics for student-athletes. Consequently, the Head Coach provides strong leadership and management functions to produce a quality intercollegiate team that represents a commitment to excellence academically and athletically. Assists in performing on field coaching and instruction. Manages all aspects of program including, but are not limited to the following: recruiting, scouting, maintaining statistics, fundraising and academic monitoring.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid IL Driver’s license and have a good driving record.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a college or high school varsity coach.
• Bachelor’s degree and five years of collegiate coaching desired.

Duties:

• Perform on-field coaching, teaching and instruction.
• Recruit student-athletes to baseball program.
• Maintain team and individual statistics, report scores to media.
• Schedule sport’s contests.
• Purchase and maintain College equipment.
• Adhere to sport budget, including travel, supply, contractual and printing accounts.
• Travel and drive to all contests.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
• Supervise Assistant Coaches in handling above job duties and evaluate assistant coach(es).
• Fundraise monies as needed.
