Description
Requirements:
- Valid First Aid/CPR card prior to assuming any coaching responsibility.
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.
- I-9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act.
- HIV/HBV training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
- Human Resources new hire training (obtain within 60 days of hire date – District provided).
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining communications with high school administrators and other head coaches including attending required coaches’ meetings.
- Ensuring that all team meetings, practices and competitions are under the direction of and supervised by a coach.
- Supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses.
- Working with secretary assigned to athletics to coordinate practice schedules, competition calendar, and transportation.
- Managing uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner.
- Submitting an annual budget.
- Monitoring athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct; ensuring that athletes have complied with physical, insurance, ASB card and eligibility rules prior to any participation.
- Setting up and supervising any off-season conditioning program as approved by the administration.
- Recommending letter awards.
- Organizing year end award presentations.
- Preparing year-end written summary evaluation of the program and recommendations for improvements.
- Ensuring the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.
