Description
This position is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the football program including but not limited to: recruiting; fund-raising; summer camps; fiscal management; monitoring academic and disciplinary standing of student-athletes; NCAA and conference compliance; scheduling; planning; practice and game supervision; personnel training and supervision; maintaining positive relations with support staff, university community, off campus constituents, media and alumni and fulfill other duties as they arise or as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Duties:
- Develop a competitive NCAA Division II football program in a manner consistent with the philosophy, core values, and guidelines of NCAA Division II, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), Commonwealth University and Lock Haven Athletics.
- Responsible for demonstrating compliance with all Athletic Department, University, NCAA Division II, PSAC and sport specific governing policies.
- Work in conjunction with CU-Lock Haven Advancement to develop fundraising strategies to increase football scholarships.
- Responsible for recruiting qualified student-athletes to attend CU-Lock Haven in accordance with NCAA Division II, Conference and University policies.
- Responsible for adherence to all University, Student Auxiliary Services (SAS) and athletic department fiscal management policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction, training, and oversight necessary for student athletes as well as the paid/volunteer coaching staff to assure that the development of skills, techniques, and physical conditioning is sufficient to enable each student-athlete to compete safely and competently.
- Responsible for advising and monitoring progress of the student-athletes academics.
- Work in collaboration with University Public Relations to engage and keep informed the University alumni, the local community and media of football program happenings, accomplishments and updates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years successful football coaching experience at an NCAA institution or professional level or six years of successful head coaching experience on the high school level.
- Can demonstrate established recruiting networks.
