Description
Coaches participating student athletes to achieve a high level of skill, discipline, sportsmanship and citizenship. Oversees and promotes the football program in accordance with policies and athletic handbook. Responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates the organization of the football program.
- Motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.
- Delegates assignments to assistant coach(es).
- Develops and organizes practice plans.
- Works with Aquinas Strength/Conditioning staff to implement a year-round strength/conditioning program.
- Acts as a liaison person in relating the district football program to the staff, administration, general public, booster clubs, and local news media.
- Plans and communicates with assistant coach(es) regarding practice schedule and competition strategies which ensure the health, physical well-being and sport specific success of student athletes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years previous high school coaching experience.
- Valid NYS First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications.
- Successful previous coaching experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals and rules and regulations of Football.
