Description
Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Head Coach for Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit student-athletes who will be successful at the Division I level both athletically and academically.
- Conduct practice sessions and workouts; responsible for scheduling contests and arranging travel for all athletics events; attend coaches' preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings.
- Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport, and maintain thorough and continual familiarity with all applicable University, Conference USA, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes and coordinate recruiting activities with the Associate Athletic Director.
- Operate the academic program, including the monitoring of individual student-athlete's progress to ensure academic eligibility, the enforcement of study and tutorial programs, and referral to appropriate University academic resources.
- Work with student-athletes and monitor adherence to rules and regulations concerning conduct, appearance, and behavior.
