Description
The University of Washington, Department of Athletics invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Head Coach for Women’s Volleyball. The Head Coach will be tasked with strategically and successfully coaching and managing all aspects of a NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a competitive NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Program.
- Recruit and retain academically and athletically talented student-athletes.
- Mentor student-athletes in their academic success and timely progress toward degree completion.
- Promote student leadership and development of exemplary student-athletes who strive for competitive excellence, academic achievement, and a commitment to service.
- Manage the daily operations of the Women’s Volleyball program. Hire, direct, and supervise talented coaching and support staff.
- Oversee training programs, coaching of practices and competition, and scouting.
- Represent the program with the upmost integrity and professionalism. Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and mature conduct.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 8 years of experience coaching volleyball at the Division I level, including a successful record with proven coaching abilities, or a combination of successful competitive volleyball experience at the collegiate and/or professional level.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train and retain academically and athletically successful student-athletes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively and professionally relate to internal and external constituents and diverse populations.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required.
