Central State University athletics department is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Coach Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country. The recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes in this sport will be integral to this position. The head coach is responsible for all aspects that relate to the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country program to include the ongoing development of the student-athlete.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Successful college coaching experience with proven track record.
Demonstrated successful recruiting experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulate an effective philosophy to promote the educational welfare and sportsmanship of the student-athlete in alignment with the mission of the university.
Monitor academic progress and the retention of students affiliated with the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country program, implementing action plans in collaboration with the Faculty Athletic Representative and Student Academic Support Services office.
Assume responsibility for sportsmanship, conduct, and academic progress of all students and staff affiliated with the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country program.
Direct the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country staff in the overall planning and execution of the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country program.
Monitor and maintain the conduct of student-athletes to support the image and reputation of the University.
Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NCAA and Conference regulations.
