Description
The Head Men's Basketball Coach will supervise, coordinate, and manage the intercollegiate baseball team while complying with UAH and NCAA regulations and promoting academic and athletic developments in its members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Recruit and evaluate prospects to identify competent academic and athletic student prospects.
- Oversee communication with recruits, evaluations off campus, official visits, try-outs.
- Conduct training, development, supervision for team members.
- Introduce basketball techniques and tactics through practice sessions and demonstration to improve level of play and offer opportunities for success as an athlete.
- Evaluate team members, opponents and team needs.
- Scout opponents, observe team members fall and spring, individual player evaluation sessions to best anticipate coming needs.
- Develop a program that offers the greatest opportunity for success, allow student athletes concrete frame of reference of strengths and areas that need improvement.
- Comply with NCAA, UAH eligibility and financial parameter, applying/using working knowledge of NCAA and UAH regulations and procedures to maintain a high level of integrity for UAH programs and conduct basketball program by the rules that govern it.
- Hire, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of full-time coaching experience in an high school, college, or professional setting.
- Must have demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes.
- Must be involved in community activities and other public relations work.
- Must possess fiscal skills and fundraising experience.
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Must possess public speaking skills and experience.
