Description
The Head Coach, Men's Hockey is responsible for building, managing and leading the competitive club hockey program. Primary duties include roster development, and practice & competition coaching. This is a part-time position.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit student-athletes to help strengthen the hockey team's competitiveness.
- Organize and hold team practices.
- Provide individual coaching as needed.
- Deliver direction and expertise in all areas of the game (arsenal creation, physical, psychological, team building, lane play, roster management).
- Determine competitive schedule and travel logistics.
- Management of team budget.
- Recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
- Promote fitness as it relates to hockey.
- Complete all required tasks as per conference and league policies and procedures for competing.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Prior individual or team coaching experience (Collegiate level preferred).
- Familiarity in developing a competitive schedule.
- Ability to manage team budget.
- High-level communication skills.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
