Description
Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the full-time position of Head Coach for Men's Golf. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer all phases of the program with integrity and within the guidelines, rules and regulations of Western Kentucky University, Conference USA and the NCAA.
- Assist in the implementation of the academic program, including the monitoring of individual student-athlete's progress to ensure academic eligibility, the enforcement of study and tutorial programs, and referral to appropriate University academic resources.
- Have a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport, and maintain thorough and continual familiarity with all applicable University, Conference USA, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Coach practice sessions and workouts, as allowed, and coach during athletics events.
- Scout for and recruit quality student-athletes and effectively communicate with them.
- Coach, train and motivate student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success.
- Work with student-athletes and monitor adherence to rules and regulations concerning conduct, appearance, and behavior.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum two years of collegiate coaching experience, teaching professionals, instructional experience, or professional playing experience in the sport of golf.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
