Description
Responsibilities include all aspects of running a Division I lacrosse program inlcuding but not limited to: recruitment and retention of student-athletes, academic integrity, commitment to compliance with NCAA, League, and University rules and regulations, fiscal management, scheduling, staffing, alumni and public relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate the program in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Administer a successful student-athelete recruitment program.
- Create annual schedule of competition that meets the guidelines outlined in the staff manual and enables the team to travel to away contests in a reasonable and safe manner.
- Administer sound budget practices.
- Meet minimum/maximum requirements regarding squad size.
- Attend athletic department functions.
- Coordinate and perform coaching duties including pre-season conditioning, practice, game preparation, field/floor coaching, and post season activities.
- Comply with Sports Medicine policies and procedures stated in the Athletic Staff and Student athlete manuals.
- Retain student-athletes in program, maintain team continuity, and garner student-athlete satisfaction with the program.
- In consultation with Athletic Director (or designee), select, supervise, and retain assistant coach(s) or support staff.
Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor degree, required.
- Employment - 4-5 years’ experience with college level program or as a high school head coach. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
