Description
The Head Coach for the Men’s Tennis program will lead the administration of all aspects of the sport program including coaching, recruiting, competition scheduling, budget management and fund raising, managing distribution of athletic scholarships, student-athlete mentoring, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring program is compliant with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement student-athlete development for the team both on and off the court. Create an evaluation system for individuals work to track progress and development.
- Plans and directs the sport training of student athletes. Assesses student-athletes’ skills and designs strategy to enhance skillset. Works directly with student athletes at practices and demonstrates proper technique; facilitates competition preparation and tournament management.
- Support student-athletes in their academic pursuits and set team standards as it relates to team GPA goals and NCAA metrics.
- Evaluate and determine the priorities of the sport as it regards budget preparation, equipment purchasing, team travel, practice space and scheduling.
- Create and maintain a positive culture within the program.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with campus partners, Miracle Hill Tennis Center, and H&K staff.
- Recruit quality prospective student-athletes.
