Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to coach, advise, supervise, and care for student-athletes. This position will also work in partnership with the varsity head coach to ensure alignment with the direction and philosophy of the boys volleyball program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coach and oversee (Upper School) Boys Junior Varsity Volleyball Team (spring season).
- Embrace the School’s athletic philosophy while helping students develop their understanding of the school’s core values.
- Strive for competitive excellence while growing and building the volleyball culture in our community.
- Teach volleyball players the skills, techniques, rules, and regulations, and ensure compliance of rules and regulations.
- Plan, direct, and administer policies, practices, and game-day management.
- Be responsible for the general health and welfare of student-athletes and give appropriate attention to student-athletes who are injured and or ill. This includes communicating all injuries to the Athletic Trainer.
- Partner with the Athletic Trainer to ensure student-athletes receive proper care.
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
- Be responsible for the actions and conduct of the team whenever they are under your supervision.
- Work with the head varsity coach on the selection and scheduling of team contests.
- Work within budgetary guidelines and policies established by the Finance department and the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- 2+ years of volleyball coaching experience preferred.
- Collegiate level athlete or higher preferred.
- Current involvement in coaching club volleyball is preferred.
