Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes to compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and be among the top programs within the conference.
- Oversee scheduling, practice planning, game day operations, and travel
- Oversee the administration of the softball program, including making recommendations for hiring and supervising coaching staff.
- Oversee the program’s operational and recruitment budget.
- Connect with the alumni of the program, including but not limited to opportunities to meet, invitations to appropriate team activity, and other stewardship activity
- Understand and follow the rules, regulations, and protocol of the University, GLVC, and the NCAA.
Qualifications:
- Extensive understanding of the game and technical aspects of the sport.
- Previous coaching experience
- The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
- Four-year college education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
