Description
The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach provides leadership and organization for all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes participating in Roosevelt’s varsity athletic teams in compliance with all national and affiliated conference policies and procedures. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, design and implementation of team and individual strength and conditioning programs, program assessment and record maintenance, collaboration and effective communication with athletic department administration, sport coaches and athletic training staff, management of fitness facilities, equipment procurement and budget maintenance, as well as other areas as assigned by the Vice President to aid in the health, wellness and performance of student-athletes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1-3 years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach in a collegiate, professional or high school setting.
- Strength and Conditioning Certification through a nationally accredited program.
- First Aid, CPR and AED Certification.
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
