Description
The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach provides leadership and organization for all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes participating in Roosevelt’s varsity athletic teams in compliance with all national and affiliated conference policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1-3 years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach in a collegiate, professional or high school setting.
- Strength and Conditioning Certification through a nationally accredited program.
- First Aid, CPR and AED Certification.
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage individual, group and team strength and conditioning programs to optimize student-athlete performance and reduce the opportunity for injury during practice and competition.
- Lead the execution of strength and conditioning programs in compliance with national association and affiliated conference guidelines, highlighting safe and proper technique, while tracking performance.
- Monitor progress of program, adapting as need for the individual or collective team.
- Meet and work collaboratively with the head coach of each sport program to determine need and construct programs accordingly.
- Actively communicate with Head Athletic Trainer and athletic training staff on all plans to ensure alignment with student-athlete health, injury prevention and maintenance.
