Description
Winston-Salem State University, an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), is seeking a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree in exercise science or a related field is required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop individualized or team-based strength and conditioning programs tailored to specific sports and athlete needs.
- Determine testing protocols and methods to assess athletes’ strength, power, speed, agility, and other physical capabilities.
- Design and implement strength and conditioning sessions, focusing on improving strength, power, speed, agility, and other desired athletic attributes.
- Collaborate with other coaches, trainers, and medical staff to develop and implement comprehensive athlete support plans.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and staff, providing updates on training progress and needs.
- Maintain athlete records and progress data, documenting training outcomes and progress.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience,
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field is required. Certification through the CSCCA or NSCA is required.
- SCCC or CSCS are required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
- Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
- Masters degree in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
