The Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning enables men and women student-athletes to perform to their fullest physical potential in their preferred sport through the development and management of individual and group weight, strength and fitness training programs. The Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning will develop programs by evaluating the current physical condition of student athletes, have knowledge of various sports and associated exercises, tailor strength programs for specific needs, demonstrate proper performance of exercises and correct mistakes.
The Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning will also manage programs by monitoring progress and providing an assessment of development. In addition, the Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning will be required to teach related courses.
Master's Degree or higher with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education or a related field. Two or more years of experience in progressively responsible positions involving the development and management of sport-specific individual and group strength training programs for men and women. The ability to teach related courses. Excellent communication skills, as well as supervisory and management skills. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
