The Head Coach, Strength and Conditioning, is responsible for directing and developing a high level of strength and conditioning services for UNCW student-athletes participating in 19 varsity sports.
This position will have oversight of the development of sport-specific strength training and conditioning programs that are scientifically-based, involve periodic/cycled regimen of exercises and drills to optimize strength, power, flexibility, mobility, agility, speed and/or work capacity-designed to enhance sport performance and decrease incidence of non-contact injuries.
List the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Knowledge of strength and conditioning exercise technique, periodization, exercise safety.
Ability to organize and teach groups ranging from 2 to 50 student-athletes at one time.
NSCA – C.S.C.S (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist)
CSCCa – SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified)
CPR/First Aid Certified.
