Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Head Coach for Track and Field recruits, prepares, and mentors student-athletes for competition as part of the intercollegiate track and field programs with the goals of individual success and high performance now and in their future lives.
- Identify and recruit prospective student-athletes for track and field events. Contact high school/community college coaches, parents, and players themselves to establish and maintain relationships and rapport.
- Maintain consistent communication/contact via face-to-face in person visits, performance evaluations; send texts, emails, and phone calls via voice or Skype. Host all-day, on-campus visits with prospects and parents; extend scholarship offers and negotiate signings.
- Assist and inform prospects of housing and academic steps and begin ongoing mentoring process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Health, or a related field, as well as five years collegiate coaching experience.
- Division I and or Division II level of collegiate coaching experience preferred.
