Description
As a head coach in Pfeiffer University's intercollegiate athletic program, the incumbent will be responsible for all functions relating to the management and running of a successful Division III Women's Volleyball program. These functions include recruiting, budget management, staffing, student-athlete supervision, scheduling events, fundraising, player development, knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA rules, conference rules & regulations, bylaws, constitutions and related university rules, regulations and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet the recruiting and roster expectation set by the Director of Athletics and ADR each fiscal year. Roster expectation is 20 student-athletes.
- Fiscal responsibilities include budget management and fundraising for the womens volleyball program and assisting with department fundraising efforts.
- Manage all aspects of the women's volleyball program, including coaching the team during traditional and non-traditional segments; planning, organizing, and supervising practices.
- Develop and maintain a competitive program while overseeing compliance with NCAA and USA South rules and regulations. Educating yourself, assistant coaching staff and team on NCAA Compliance rules.
- Staff member is responsible for monitoring an institutional facility for the purposes of safety and facility security of the weight room.
Job Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Coaching experience on the intercollegiate level preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations and compliance issues.
- Experience recruiting students.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
