Description
The Head Coach, Volleyball is responsible for all aspects of the University of Tulsa’s NCAA Division I Volleyball Program. This position will perform as a positive role model for student-athletes in an upbeat environment which strives for academic and athletic excellence and will establish a professional relationship with student-athletes, staff, alumni, and the general public to promote the university, and its athletics program.
Characteristic Duties:
- Coach the volleyball program, ensuring the development of a quality, competitive athletics program and support of the individual educational goals of student-athletes.
- Schedule and supervise all team practice sessions and intercollegiate competitions within the program.
- Recruit highly skilled student-athletes for the volleyball team that are in line with the University Mission.
- Work closely with athletic training, academic and student services, and athletic performance staffs to monitor the progress of student-athletes.
- Manage sport program budget in accordance with university and departmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinate necessary administrative duties and community/campus service events.
- Develop and implement programs to assist student-athletes in their transition into the college environment
- Work with the Admissions staff in the in this student-athlete recruiting process.
- Provide opportunities for academic assistance to student-athletes if required and monitors the academic progress of each participating student-athlete in volleyball program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Technical knowledge of women’s volleyball and the demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge.
- College coaching experience and demonstrated recruiting ability.
- Demonstrated administrative, public relations, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with recruiting within the region.
- Ability to establish working relationships with student-athletes, administration, coaching staffs, university personnel, and the general public.
