Description
This position reports to the Director of Athletics and works with campus departments, and athletic commissioners to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) in areas including, but not limited to; recruiting, letters of intent, eligibility, scheduling and travel, and preparing student-athletes for competition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct the Women's Golf program in accordance with the established rules and regulations of Centralia College and the NWAC.
- Maintain updated knowledge of all NWAC sport-specific and eligibility rules and work with the athletic department to monitor eligibility.
- Recruit quality student-athletes in accordance with the rules and regulations of the college and the NWAC.
- Make recommendations to the Director of Athletics for assistant coaching assignments and establish responsibilities for coaching staff.
- Develop a competitive contest schedule and comprehensive practice plans.
- Assist the athletic department with planning and preparations for home contests and act as liaison between athletic department and home golf course.
- Plan for all team travel in collaboration with athletic department staff, including the safe transport of team members to all away contests.
- Make recommendations to the Director of Athletics regarding the awarding of letters of intent and financial awards.
- Provide comprehensive instruction regarding individual skill development and team strategies specific to the sport of golf.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated, successful coaching experience in the sport of golf at the high school, advanced club, or college level.
- Demonstrated understanding of intercollegiate golf rules and regulations.
