Description
The golf program is a division 1 program competing in the Patriot League, and program oversight includes student recruitment, student development, and program administration responsibilities. The head coach provides leadership and direction to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the University and the Department of Athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Instructing student athletes in the fundamental skills, rules, strategies, and physical conditioning necessary for success in their sport.
- Evaluating/assessing, effectiveness and results and adapting/refining strategies.
- Planning (practices, training sessions, team and individual conditioning, line-ups, and competitive strategies).
- Designing instructional programs for individual student-athletes or for the team as a whole as needed.
- Planning and evaluating student progress and program results, status, and priorities.
- Preparing and managing annual program budgets.
- Supervising, managing, and evaluating personnel (including sensitivity to diversity).
- Scheduling student competitions and/or planning tournaments in coordination with appropriate administrator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
- One to three years of related work experience.
- Experience with or extensive exposure to event staging and/or charitable fund raising, ideally in an educational setting.
