Description
Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- A minimum one year of intercollegiate coaching experience or multiple years of professional golf playing experience.
- Proven experience in collegiate recruiting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Responsibilities:
- Administer educationally sound competitive Women’s Golf Program, within the rules and policies of any conference Oakland University may enter and NCAA legislated guidelines, and within the assigned fiscal budget as allocated.
- Plan and implement all phases of the Program, including student-athlete recruitment, scheduling, conducting practice sessions, conditioning programs, public relations activities and scouting/game preparation.
- Administer a sound and productive recruiting program within the university policies. Assist with the Men’s Golf Program as directed by the Director of Men’s and Women’s Golf/Head Coach, Men’s Golf.
- Provide assistance as necessary with the departmental fundraising and public relations programs.
- Perform other duties outside of those related to golf as assigned by the Director of Men’s and Women’s Golf/Head Coach, Men’s Golf, Sport Administrator or Director of Athletics.
