Description
The head coach for SUNY Cortland’s women’s golf team is responsible for all aspects of the program, including practice preparation, skill instruction, on-court coaching, player development, recruiting, budget management, team travel, scheduling, academic success, and student-athlete welfare. This position also includes serving as the Athletic Departments’ Academic Coordinator.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee all matters pertaining to the total operation of the sport of Women’s Golf.
- Direct, encourage, and motivate athletes to prepare them for competitions.
- Plan strategies and choose team members for each competition.
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
- Recruit an adequate number of student athletes with sufficient skill to maintain the quality of the program, and in accordance with applicable rules and regulations
- Assess academic performance of student athletes at least once each semester to support student retention.
- Maintain or build the sport program that is competitive at the conference level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience coaching golf.
- Valid Driver’s license.
